Contract worth $37 million with vesting option for fourth season

Rodriguez, is coming off a season in which he set a Major League record with 62 saves.

Finaly Mets will have (again) a great closer  bravo

It was a big need for them and they fixed it.
Now it will be interesting to see where the other closers end up.
Early rumor has Woods close to a deal with Cleveland

Last two years they missed the playoffs because the penn blowed. Now at least they know that in the 9 inning they will lost just a few games!

It was a great pick up for the Mets, they blew so many games this year, they might be a nice play to make the playoffs
this year, still have to wait and see other offseason moves though

Not sold on K Rod.   Why would the Angles let him go when all he got was 12 mill a year.  Plus the mets still have to get from the starter to K Rod and the blew as many games in the 8th as the 9th last year.

Great sign for the Mets, but I wonder if he is worth all the money.

the acquisition of jj putz just might prove to be a lethal bullpen// they could use upgrades in rotation but if you look at that lineup and bullpen they are my favorites to go to the world series

I think all closers are overpaid, including K-Rod and Rivera.

Mets, still need some starter help and power in the outfield.  It would nice to see Pat Burrell sign with Mets and let him stick it to Philly like he did to the Mets for some many years.
