TIS Fantasy Baseball Leagues - Sign Up!

I haven't talked personally to Gamer yet about this but we usually conduct at least two fantasy baseball leagues every year. This thread is just to get a idea about how many people are interested in playing. We can discuss league fees but please only sign up if you will be interested in participating the entire year. We usually use ESPN.com for our drafts and the running of the website and you play a different team each week and have to submit a lineup each day. The rules will follow but if you are interested in playing please sign up here.

Gary and Gadget, you guys are in. We will have a vote on what type of scoring we will use, it will probably be about 18 categories split between hitting and pitching. I'm thinking the league fee should be anywhere from $50 - $100 so chime in with your thoughts as well.

I've never played it before Oscar, how much time is needed on a daily /weekly basis?  Trendsetter will absorb about 3-4 hours a night, Im not sure If I join that I would have the time.  Do you set lineups daily or weekly?  Is money/Prizes involved or for fun?

Really not a lot of time CC, just depends on how involved you want to get. We do set a daily lineup but it only takes a couple of minutes to do and if you forget to do it the website will keep your lineup from the day before anyway. It's more of a fun league but we want a money figure on it just to keep people from losing interest halfway through the season.

We haven't set a date for the draft yet, once I get 12 people we will see what is convenient for everyone. If you want in I will put you on the list, let me know.

Each person picks a team. I think he leaves the Yankees and Phillies out of the pool.
After you select a team. You then select 3 players from that team.
You total up their rankings from the ESPN top 100 and the lowest number gets first pick.
Since I'm the defending champ of the league I picked my team last.
I took the Twins and picked Morneau, Mauer and Span.
The total points for those 3 were the lowest and I also pick #1 in the draft now

I think next year we should try that league here.
More fun since you have to do some work before the draft.
You can either load up your team with the 3 picks. Or get creative and try to also get the first draft pick as well.

That sounds like a cool idea as well, I would sign up for that next year. Since we have a lot of new players in this league so far I think traditional will be the way we go here but who knows.

I am taking thoughts from everyone about a potential draft date. If you signed up let me know what date works good for you. I'm on East Coast time so let me know the time available via EST if possible. If nobody else signs up, we can always go with 10 teams. I'm thinking the entry fee to be either $50-75 and that will cover all transactions for the year. I am going to set up a new league however Red because if you remember last year was that points league and I would rather set up a league with 16-18 categories including pitching. Let me know your thoughts on that as well everyone. Also, my thoughts on payouts would be to make two divisions and the regular season winners get $150 bucks each if we use $50 for a entry fee and then the playoff finals the winner gets $150 and the loser $50. It will be adjusted if we use $75 obviously.

Any ideas are greatly appreciated as we all will be participating in this hopefully not just this year but for years to come!
