MLB Playoff GOY - They Are What You Think They Are ! (0-2 -7.20)

For those of you who pass thru my threads on a regular basis, you'd probably agree that I rarely if ever hype a GOY type of play.  If anything, I lean towards the conservative side (in sports betting only  ).  Today is the exception.  

As a normal practice, I try to have an expected line in mind before I start capping a game.  Sometimes after further research, a "leading" type line seems more justifiable than I expected.  I'll typically throw that play out.  Today, this Yankee line shocked me.  I can find some justification for it such as Burnett's history with this ump, but no way would I have thought -150 would be the number.  It's not like Hunter is a mutt, and it's not like the Rangers are running scared from the mighty Bombers.  This line smells.

I've been 6-1 in MLB playoffs games so far, hopefullly it continues today.


Yankees -150  4*  LOSER  As much as I like the play, the Yankees bats have been basically silent this series.  I do not advocate playing the rl to      
                           avoid the -150 price tag.

Phillies -120  1*  LOSER  Banking on Rollins waking up vs Cain.  Pretty much an action play for me however.

Good luck Laker. I agree that this price is heavy one the way the yanks are hitting..and way AJ was pitching this year its really makes it seem steep. With that said AJ is sort of pitching for his spot back as alot of the bullshit he's been throwing will be forgotten in Yankee-land with a good performance tonight. Yanks know they need a win...might need the next 3 in a row to not face Cliff Lee!  Good luck on the GOY buddy, i sure hope u nail it.  I might even try and grab some nose-bleads and attend the game tonight bc this stadium is gonna be rocking.

I will say that I was surprised that NY had bases loaded in the 8th and the stands were appeared to be 75% empty.  Yankee fans relish the fact that they fill other stadiums like Baltimore in todays era.  

Yankee fans aren't better fans, they're just fans. They're on top of the world when they're winning, and recognize more important impulses when things aren't going thir way.

I'm all in favor of making money regardless of personal biases.  Now that Yanks have won game 5, I'm hoping for some value in game 6!  We'll see

I will throw my $.02 worth in here...I am a huge fan of a team that is in a small market that cannot compete in this day and age of huge contracts that money-laundering teams like the Yankees can afford with ease. My team(the Brewers) has maybe the most loyal fan base of any team in the country, we put 30,000 people in the seats on a Tuesday night for a Pirates game. I have seen other teams this year...the Reds in 1st place by several games had less than 15,000 fans for a weekday game against the Brewers and there was probably 3 or 4,000 Brewers fans there! I have seen the Tampa Bay Rays draw less than 15,000 while in the middle of a heated pennant race. What I hate more than the Yankees though is the state of baseball as it is today. The horse is already out of the barn so to speak, so I don't know how they can fix it. I love baseball, but it kills me inside to know that my team has little or no shot to compete because of the huge disparity in money they are able to offer. The Brewers made a very acceptable offer to CC when he was a free agent, but the Yanks offered him 5 million a year more. I'd also like to say at this point that CC Sabathia is a fucking money hungry cock-sucker that needs to be a big fish in a big pond. I don't begrudge Yankees fans their right to be cocky, they spend more than any team every year, they should be good!!! If their front office was smarter they would have 35 fucking rings by now.
