Greg Shaker | NBA Total Fri, 01/27/12 - 9:05 PM
double-dime bet 821 TOR / 822 DEN Over 197.5 Bookmaker.com Analysis: I have watched this number flip and flop this morning, getting as high as 200 after an open of 197. This a low total for a team that is #1 in Offensive Efficiency and #1 with NBA Pace Ratings. I know they are playing Toronto who rates low in both of those departments but the Nuggets don't play a lot of D, they just run you out of the building. No real significant injuries affecting this total and Bettor's reactions bringing this one back down to what I think is a very playable number. Mine is 202.2. I am playing for 2%..

No real significant injuries affecting this total? Bargnani is out again for Toronto and they are 6-7 when he plays averaging 90.4 pts./game and 0-6 without him averaging 81 points/game. Ty Lawson is also out for Denver, and no point guard in the NBA pushes the pace of games any better than Lawson. Did this guy even handicap this fucking game?
Who the hell bets units? I bet money...

Accuscore - Soccer by Shahan Ahmed 27th January, 2012

In over 3 months since I started my analyst picks series for AccuScore, I am 34-15, 69%, and +2,381 in profit. What is the 2,381 units based on? Well, if you started with 500 units in my 1st weekend of making picks (putting 100 units on each of my expert picks), you would now have 2,381 units in total profit. Not bad, eh?

My method is quite simple, really. I use my experience watching football, study the computers top picks and trends, and then, I combine the two factors to make picks. Also, I keep schedules in mind.

This week, Ive put out 1 FA Cup expert pick for the Manchester United v Liverpool tie from Anfield and 3 Bundesliga picks. The FA Cup pick is a bit different because AccuScore does not cover domestic cups. AccuScore covers the top 4 leagues and the Champions League. Since Champions League doesnt start for a few more weeks, Im stepping out on my own on this weeks FA Cup pick. However, theres value in making this pick, so I had to include it.

Top 4 Picks for the Weekend of 27th January, 2012

1: Schalke v FC Cologne: Schalke at 1.962
According to the computer, Schalke is 59,9% likely to win away to Cologne. Oddsmakers currently have Schalke at 50% to win, so there is value in making this pick according to the computer. The computer is 6-2 when judging value on winning for Schlake with a 700 unit net profit. With all other pertinent trends not proving much insight, this seems to be a value play. Cologne lost in their return from the winter break to Wolfsburg while Schalke looked strong against Stuttgart last week.

2: Borussia Dortmund v TSG Hoffenheim: Under 2.5 or 3
This is a trends pick. AcuScore is 7-3 when finding value in picking the Under with Dortmund and 12-4 in Totals picks overall with Dortmund. Also, AccuScore is 7-2 when picking Under with Hoffenheim, so the trends apply to both teams. Like I said, personally, I would think Dortmund would score 2 goals, but this is a trends pick.

3: Borussia Monchengladbach away to Stuttgart: Gladbach to win at 2.810
Borussia Monchengladbach are good. They beat Bayern Munich 3-1 last weekend and played incredibly effectively on the counter. They have the quickest and strongest counter attack in the Bundesliga. Stuttgart looked out of sorts against Schalke last weekend, but Stuttgart are a much stronger side in front of their home fans. That is why Gladbach is getting such good odds. AccuScore calculates Gladbach to have a 50.2% chance of winning, far higher than the 35% currently attributed to the team 1 point back of the head of the table.

4: FA Cup: Manchester United v Liverpool: Manchester United to win at 2.860
Liverpool looked good against Manchester City in the Carling Cup on Wednesday, and theyve been a strong side at Anfield this season. However, they still lack fire power with Suarez suspended. Also, Fergie particularly loves to beat the Reds. United have the good fortune of being rested, and this pick is based on two factors. First, United last played a week ago, while Liverpool played during midweek, so United are the more rested squad. Craig Bellamy has been the spark for Liverpool, but the 32 year-old has played far too much recently. Second, Liverpool have not consistently had it this season, so expecting them to beat Manchester City and United back to back is a tough ask. At 2.86, its hard to pass up a Manchester United pick.

Joe Gavezzi paid play
NBA ATL -6 over DET
triple-dime bet 807 ATL -6.0 (-110) Hilton vs 808 DET Analysis: Detroit has played a bit better in the last week, covering on this court against Miami and Portland. But they also have six losses on this court by 8 or more points. For the season, they are being outscored by an average of 7 a game on their home boards. With only Charlotte and New Jersey posting a worse margin of defeat at home. Tonight they will send a lineup to the court that may not include key injured contributors Gordon, Prince, and Villanueva, all of whom are suffering various maladies. Atlanta was embarrassed at San Antonio Wednesday night, losing 105-83. They have faced arguably the toughest road slate in league. But when asked to perform against lesser victims, the Hawks have recorded a mark of 3-1 ATS as road chalk. They have also been resilient following a loss, posting a record of 4-1 ATS, with victories of 8, 6, 30 and 27 point, for a margin of 18 PPG. This is a deep team that has compensated for the loss of Horford and will profit from the return of Hinrich who will be playing his second game after returning from injury.

---Start Time 7:00 PM EST---
SIENA SAINTS -8.5 over Marist Red Foxes, 20 dimes
The Red Foxes of Marist have been getting shellacked by just about everyone lately.  They've dropped their last 5 contests both SU and ATS, and the majority of these recent opponents haven't quite been prime material on the college landscape.  They're playing with a heavy heart after experiencing a campus tragedy, and now they have to travel to face a Siena team hot off an upset win over Iona.  The Saints have been solid at home, so let's lay the chalk.

---Start Time 7:35 PM EST---

5-STAR Charlotte and Philadelphia Under - We identified it before on a nice winner Wednesday but it's still important here. Charlotte just doesn't have the ability to run an offense without DJ Augustin. That means more low scoring from them in this one.
In Charlotte's 92-75 loss to Washington, they had just 13 assists while committing 19 turnovers. The Bobcats are 0-11 OU (-11.7 ppg) since March 03, 2010 after a loss in which they had more turnovers than assists. Also, the Bobcats are 0-10 OU (-11.8 ppg) since December 15, 2009 after a loss in which they had fewer than fifteen assists. They were a mere 1-of-9 on threes in that game. The Bobcats are 0-11 OU (-11.5 ppg) since March 05, 2010 with at most one day of rest after a road loss in which they scored less than 10% of their points from the three-point line. Boris Diaw strugged from all over going 2-of-8 overall and missing both threes. The Bobcats are 0-5 OU (-18.2 ppg) since November 03, 2010 with at least a day of rest after a loss on the road in which Boris Diaw shot worse than 33% from the field. The end result was them scoring 17.5 points less than expected. The Bobcats are 0-7 OU (-8.9 ppg) since March 23, 2010 after a road loss in which their DPS was minus 15 points or less. Philadelphia is coming off a disappointing 97-90 loss against New Jersey Wednesday. That game was decided in overtime. The Seventysixers are 0-9 OU (-17.8 ppg) since May 10, 2003 at home with at most one day of rest off an overtime loss. Also, the Bobcats are 0-8 OU (-10.8 ppg) since March 26, 2008 with at most one day of rest after a road loss when their opponent is off an overtime game. They registered some big minutes in that one with Andre Iguodala playing 41. The Seventysixers are 0-10 OU (-14.6 ppg) since October 30, 2010 after a loss in which Andre Iguodala played more than 40 minutes. Jodie Meeks did not get much going offensively despite playing 33 minutes. He was just 2-of-4 for six points. The Seventysixers are 0-8 OU (-16.2 ppg) since February 11, 2011 after a loss at home in which Jodie Meeks was not the Seventysixers' high scorer. Also, the Seventysixers are 0-7 OU (-10.6 ppg) since November 19, 2010 after a loss at home in which Jodie Meeks scored fewer than 10 points. SPORTSBOOK BREAKERS PREDICTION: PHILADELPHIA 91, Charlotte 73
