Memphis Grizzlies (+1.5) vs. Denver Nuggets
I don’t think Vegas is giving the Memphis Grizzlies enough credit. Even though they are on a four game losing streak, the Grizzlies are still a good team that plays solid defense and has a nice mix of talented backcourt and front court players. On the other hand, the Nuggets have won six of their last seven, but with most of the wins coming against poor, sub .500 teams. I like the Grizzlies at home in a game that they must win to get back on track. AccuScore has Memphis covering the spread at 70.7 percent.

Cleveland Cavaliers (+3) vs. Boston Celtics
For my second pick I’m also taking the home underdog. This is the second game between these two teams in three days. On Sunday, the Cavaliers defeated the Celtics in Boston thanks to a game winning shot by rookie Kyrie Irving. Boston will be seeking revenge tonight, but I don’t trust the old, tired legs of the Celtics. In addition, they have only beaten one good team on the road in the now struggling Orlando Magic. I like the Cavs to take two straight from the Celts. The Cavs covering the spread is a four star pick and AccuScore hot trend.


If you didn’t watch the Oklahoma City Thunder at Los Angeles Clippers game last night and missed Sportscenter than you’re in for a real treat. Go on to Youtube and look up Blake Griffin’s incredible dunk over Serge Ibaka. I’m expecting that slam to become a poster that I wouldn’t mind having on my wall. The Clippers looked really good against the Thunder, dominating the game offensively from start to finish. They could still use some work on defense, but there are plenty of games left to work out the defensive kinks.

New York Islanders at Carolina Hurricanes: Canes Win
The money lines indicated the Canes are a slight favorite at -122. AccuScore forecasts Carolina’s odds at being significantly better with a forecasted winning percentage of 57.2. Carolina is on a roll at home as of late, winning six of its last seven games in front of a favorable crowd. The Hurricanes have lost their past two matchups with the Islanders, but the losses came in overtime after a tight game. I like the home team in this contest.

Buffalo Sabres at Montreal Canadiens: Canadiens Win
In the AccuScore forecasts the Montreal Canadiens are winning 63.2 percent of the games, which is just fewer than five percentage points better than the money line indicates at -141. Both teams are a disappointment this year, but Montreal is slightly less of one. Buffalo has had success against Montreal, including winning two on the road, but the Canadiens entered the break on a high note with two straight victories. Again, I like the home team in a game with two teams that aren’t very good.

The computer Over/Under line for this game is 115 points, and has a positive record picking totals this season for both teams. Big 10 conference totals has been one of the best trends this year with a 27-15 record, 64.3 percent for a +1050 unit return.

Arkansas +2.5 vs. Vanderbilt
Vanderbilt has been an odd team this season losing four times at home and just once on the road. Granted the ‘Dores have played just five games on the road this season, but home-road records like that are usually reversed especially for good teams. Arkansas is a good example of this getting all 15 of its wins on its home court. In what should be a close game, I like the value of taking a very good home team and the points.

Air Force vs. New Mexico Over 118.5 Points
The Over-Under line for this game is set at 121 points. The Over at 118.5 occurs in 54.1 percent of simulations. The computer has been stellar this season picking totals for Air Force this year with a 10-2 record.
