The Kings have lost five games in a row, and have the second worst point differential in the league at -11.3 points. Portland is just 7th in the West at the moment, but has the best point differential in the conference at +6.3 points. The projected line for this game is actually Blazers by 7 points doubling the betting line (60.1 percent).

Los Angeles Clippers -1 vs. Denver Nuggets
The Lakers are already out on their “Grammy road trip.” The Clippers will do the same for six games after tonight so they know that tonight will be a key date on the calendar. Denver will be looking for a measure of revenge after losing to the Clips on Sunday, but L.A. has the advantage of being at home this time and appear to be the better team. Simulations have the Clippers winning by 6 points, and covering the 1 point spread 63.9 percent of the time. This is probably my favorite pick of the night.

Atlanta Hawks -4 vs. Memphis Grizzlies
The Hawks are one of the best home teams in the league with an 8-1 record. The Grizzlies are just 4-7 on the road and had lost 4 games in a row before pulling out the last one Tuesday in overtime. Atlanta has played very well the last two games beating the Hornets and Raptors by a combined 45 points. The Hawks are playing good basketball, are at home, and that’s good enough for me to pick them tonight.

Idaho State vs. Montana State Over 135 Points
The computer records for totals for both teams are just 6-11 and 6-10. Because of this I’m going to fade this pick and take the Over instead of the projected Under. One good indicator for doing this is that both teams have gone over the posted line much more often than not (a combined 24 times in 34 games).

Murray State -14.5 vs. Southeast Missouri State
The computer doesn’t officially have a pick for this game, but I’m going to take Murray State to stay unbeaten and win big in the process. The Racers win by 16.4 points on average in simulations and will be at home. Southeast Missouri State is 7-2 in the Ohio Valley, but overall the conference is very weak and both losses have come on the road.

BYU vs. Gonzaga Over 147 Points
This projection is basically right on the line, but I will take the over. BYU plays at a frenetic pace, and has played some very testy match-ups already in the West Coast Conference stirring up rivalries in just its first year in the league. Gonzaga can be a raucous environment so as long both teams shoot decently, this game could devolve in a shootout which would be both entertaining and good for the over.
